Dad’s Construction did a great job on our City of Orange master bathroom remodel. This was our second project with Dan / Dad’s Construction, and the high standards, skill, and professionalism were just as apparent on this project as they were on the first project (a guest bath remodel that we did a couple of years ago). City of Orange Master Bathroom Remodel with a Low Curb Walk-in Shower

This City of Orange master bathroom remodel included removing the existing bathtub and converting it to a low curb walk-in shower.  The shower has a multifunction shower head and a separate adjustable hand shower.  There is a shampoo niche with decorative accent tile to match the shower floor and a new energy efficient window.  The shower walls are covered in 12” x 24” porcelain tiles with minimal grout lines.  The shower floor has decorative accent glass mosaic tiles.  New recess lighting, light sconces, and exhaust fans compliment the bathroom remodel.  A custom made cabinet using real maple and birch wood (not sawdust and glue) adds a flare of elegance and stylishness.

Under each sink is a full extension self-closing pull out drawer.  Both sides of the cabinet have full extension pull-outs with clear storage bins.

The fixtures are brass with a polished nickel finish.

The Bathroom Remodel Included a Master Bedroom Remodel

New energy efficient double hung windows (windows that open from the top and bottom) replaced the old single pane glass windows.  These windows have a tilt-wash feature – allowing them to be cleaned from the inside of the house.  The bedroom did not have good lighting, especially at night.  To remedy this, four six-inch adjustable temperature setting LED recess lights on a dimmer were added in the ceiling.  All the old beige outlets (plugs) and switches were replaced with white Decora appliances.

New real wood baseboards (not sawdust and glue type) and solid wood closet shelves with a new polished chrome closet rod were also installed.  The popcorn (acoustical) ceiling texture was removed with a light cloud texture applied in its place.  All the walls were retextured and finished in a light orange peel finish.  The entire bedroom received a fresh coat of premium paint.

Everything installed is very solid, durable, and placed with care and perfection.  The towel bars, tissue holder, and sink light fixtures have solid wall cavity blocking for strength and durability.  This aging in place bathroom has wall cavity blocking all around the inside shower perimeter for future grab bars.  The one-piece chair height toilet allows for easier sitting and use.  The fixtures are not plastic with metal plating.  All the fixtures are solid brass with strong, long-lasting polished nickel finishes.

The shower glass has a special factory applied shield that protects the glass against dirt, grime, and soap scum.  It repels water, making glass surfaces easy to clean while preserving their appearance.
