Rough Estimate to Remodel
DAD’s has a simple philosophy when providing a rough estimate to remodel – Always be honest and up-front with the customer and never pretend a project is something that it isn’t. We never provide an estimate containing low quality, substandard, and poor performing materials. DAD’s estimates contain high quality products and installation methods. We do not provide estimates using “best case scenarios” or meaningless “allowances”. In my better than 45 years of renovating & remodeling, I have never seen or heard of anyone actually performing a project under these circumstances and be happy.
Many contractors have no problem providing you with unrealistic estimates, allowances, and bait-and-switch tactics. After the project is well under way, the Change Order process is used to jack-up the price. This price change is usually way up from the initial estimate.
DAD’s does not provide rough estimates. Rough estimates are very misleading and almost always lead to both the client and contractor getting upset with each other. DAD’s employes the Design/Build approarch. Design/Build estimates by DAD’s Construction include all materials, parts, labor, installation, and sales tax.
